I have recently moved to a home in Kegworth, in North West Leicestershire. After 20 years as a Teacher in various educational settings, I am now delighted to be combining my teaching skills with my passion for yarn, knitting and crochet. I love being able to pass on my passions and my skills by teaching others how to maximise their knitting and crochet skills, creativity and well-being.
Although I learned to knit and crochet as a teenager and was both knitting and crocheting regularly until I was thirty or so, it is my relatively recent come-back to these crafts that has filled me with enthusiasm for all things yarny. I have learned so much!
Not least, I have discovered how knitting and crochet can help to develop 'Mindfulness' - living in the moment and clearing your mind of all except the gentle rhythms of knitting and crocheting.
However, I don't pretend to know everything about yarn, knitting or crochet. I'm sure you all have skills and knowledge that I don't have! Sharing these skills and nuggets of knowledge is a big part of the yarn craft community: a diverse, friendly and incredibly supportive bunch of people.
During my knitting and crochet lessons I like to promote this tradition of mutual support and sharing.
